Spiritual Transformation 12/19/2010
When you get tired of statisfying your flesh, and truly find out that your flesh is only statisfied for a moment and as soon as it dies down, your flesh desires more; try to awaken your spirit in order that you will be statisfied like never before. Your spirit man is desiring and awaiting the moment when you recognize that once the spiritual you become satisfied, then all of you will be satisfied. I did not fully understand this until I sought truth. My truth was that I never wanted God's spirit to illuminate within me because I was not ready to live right. Nevertheless, I found myself getting pulled deeper and deeper in the desires of my flesh. And this was leading me into a pit that I couldn't seem to get out of. It was not until one day, I opened my front door and almost instantly, I saw a glimpse that caused me to lie down right there in the floor and cry out, "Lord, please renew my spirit so I can worship You in spirit and in truth." I admitted to God that I was filty and covered in the disease of flesh desires, and I told the Lord of all the things that I'd experienced in my flesh and past, that caused me to feel unworthy of His Love and the guidance of His Spirit. Then, I wailed before the Lord. I cried more that day than I had ever cried before. My house use to be so dark, because that's how my life was....DARK, then I started to desire to pull the curtains to let the light shine in. This is what was happening inside of me as well, but I had no words to explain that my spirit man was a light that shineth in darkness. Now, I understand that God desires my true worship and as I worship Him in spirit and in truth, He renews my mind daily and keeps me from the transgressions that my flesh would wall captive to. So, this Christmas, find yourself a small corner and just lay before the Lord. Ask Him to allow His spirit within you to become the source of your every supply, ask Him to allow His spirit within you to order your steps continuously, and ask Him to cause your flesh to become totally subject to your spirit. For then and only then will you gain a spiritual transformation that will lead you into all truths! Add Comment You have always dreamed of owning your own business, nevertheless, you have never taken the intuitive to follow your dreams because you just do not know how. In order to effectively become a business owner, there are some steps that you must follow in order to achieve your goal. First, take the dream and make it a vision on paper. This is simply determining what you desire to do, but making sure that it is something that you love doing. If you are doing what you love, you will enjoy what you do! This assessment will allow you to be open to being the first one in, and the last one out. All business owners love their business enough to spend as much time, as they need to in the business, but loving every minute. Research is always a positive. If you love baking cookies, research the different types of cookies. Perfect the cookies that you do good, making them great. Then find information on others who have started cookie companies. Evaluate what makes them a successful business and elaborate on what you feel can make them an even better business. This information is conducive to writing a brilliant business plan. Now, lets get down to the brass business of starting a business. After choosing what it is you want to do, determine what you will name your business. You name is the first component to doing your legal paper work for your business. Then, it is now time to determine what type of business like whether you want to become a sole proprietorship (having the least taxes but greatest liabilities), a general partnership (consisting of having two or more people partnering with you in business), a limited liability corporation (LLC), which is only available in certain states, or a corporation (having the suffix INC, which insures the best protection). After securing and establishing the type of business you will have, the next step is registering with the Secretary of State. Go to your local government state web page to pull forms on registering your business. There you can also find other information that can be truly helping to a new and up coming business owner. Then it’s insurance time. Insurance is always your assurance in the case of emergencies. These are the types of insurances that are available and needed when starting a new business: liability insurance, property insurance, business interruption, key-man insurance, automobile insurance, and home office insurance, if you are running your business from your home. The last step is getting an Employer Identification Number (EIN). This number can be obtained by going to the IRS website and down loading form SS-4. You can either call this information in at 1-800-829-4933, or by faxing it in to the IRS. After you have finished all of these steps, you now are the owner of a legitimate business. Your next step is developing a marketing plan and next week we will assist you with this. Until then, have a wonderful time dreaming and bringing your dream to life! The Day I Dealt With Politics 12/07/2010
You know, I am really one who rarely dibs in politics because I just believe that the church and state are separate, but I also believe that although separate- the church has played a lucrative role in getting politics to understand that we have a voice, freedom, and distinctive measures that we operate in, as the fore-runner for the people. Had it not been for the educated preacher with enough God in Him and the will to lose his own life that he might gain life more rewardingly, Pastor Martin Luther King, I wonder who would have been the fore-runner. John the Baptist, the fore-runner for Jesus announced the way of the coming Messiah to a land that was filled with political woes and politicians who felt they knew it all. Nevertheless, I am so put off by the struggle that my President is faced with and his desire to fight for a people who are so unstable. One day they are with him, and the next day, they are joining in with criticism. “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” This is what comes to my mind when I think of Americans who voted for him and Democrats who stand by him, but have lost their zeal because of those who oppress him. Then my mind go to the crooks that we keep putting in Congress who get richer every day off our dimes, but would suffer even more of us being homeless and out on the streets, so that they won’t have to come out of their fat pockets for nothing! You know, the anger that I felt for them even debating on extending unemployment made me want to tell every homeless person in America to find out where their congressmen live and sleep on their lawns! But if they did not care about you being homeless, they surely would not care about you being thrown in jail because to them, at least you will have some place to lay your heads. What is our country coming to when, your state congressman can employ a man and give him insurance for his family with a $6000.00 deductible. Then have the nerve to give him $72.00 a month, and say this is to help them with their doctor expenses. And this is exactly what your President is trying to prevent. I understand we all have the power to get wealth and whether some tap into it or not, it does not give those who have the right to treat those who labor for you as hired slaves. We have to stop looking at people as rich or poor, or black or white, and start looking at people as brother or sister. I hear God saying, “I gave to them a President from both sides, and still they did not see that they were one.” Instead of the oneness, I just believe that they see our President just like the Philistine Goliath saw David, “as a little boy”, but what they did not recognize was that David came in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom they have defiled…..because when you do God’s people any kind of way whether just or unjust, saved or unsaved, poor or rich…you do it unto HIM. But I also hear God saying, “It is written that if My people who are called by My name, would humble themselves and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked way, then I will hear from heaven and I will forgive their sin and heal their land.” Our land is in need of a healing and God is waiting on His true believers to allow the Holy Spirit to usher us into prayer. Not for money and jobs, but that His face be seen in dark places, that His glory would fill the temples, and that His will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven! Just as God appoints Kings, he appoints Presidents,! We must remember that we belong to God....good, bad, indifferent, talkative, shy, clean, dirty, sinful, grateful, or unthankful...He is God and He knows. Watch Out For Those Seeds 12/06/2010
Have you ever wondered how thoughts enter your mind that you know are wrong, and on the ordinarily wouldn’t have even approved of your mind going there? Have you ever had to stop in the midst of your thoughts and say, “Lord, please take this thought from my mind because it needs to be rebuke!”? Oftentimes, these are the seeds planted in the corners of your mind by the enemy and if you don’t quickly try to destroy them, they will fester and become a part of your everyday thought process. That’s why it is so important to watch out for those seeds. You have the distinct opportunity to destroy a seed that has been planted in your mind by the enemy. This is done simply by discarding a seed at the first realization that it has been planted. For example: You saw a handsome, fine, wealthy man at the grocery store, and as soon as you turned away from him, the thought occurred of how nice it would be wrapped up in his bed with him inside of you. Through the gateway of your eyes, the enemy has now planted a seed of lust. Instead of you bringing your soul into agreement with the thought, you must rebuke it like this: Lord you told me to think of the things that are pure and that thought was not pure and I know it was not of you. I rebuke that thought and I pray that you uproot that seed that the enemy has tried to plant in my mind through my eyes. In Jesus name. As you saw in the example, the seed could have settled into that spot and every fine man you saw could become your bed partner in your mind. Uncontrolled thoughts become actions when you allow the thoughts to take root and grow. Eventually Satan is going to present you with the opportunity to take the thought further thus causing you to sin. Or you can rebuke the thought by telling your carnal man that you will not be carnally minded or entertain unmoral thoughts and the seed in hewn down. So many unmoral things occur when the mind of the person who commits the act has allowed seeds to grow and fester. That’s why it is so important that we let the mind that was in Christ be in us also and we do this by staying in the Word of God and by allowing the Word to be hidden in our hearts. We really enjoyed our Thanksgiving Day. It was a day that I reflected on my family. This is the first year since I've been back home that I did not go anywhere. I was determined to stay home with my husband, my kids, and our dinner. Raiyawna, unfortunately for me, was parading the streets of New York City having the time of her life, and I was feeling like a sheep who'd lost her lamb. As I took inventory of my children, I realized that they are truly becoming young adults and there is nothing that I can do to stop that. I said a prayer of this sort, "Lord I thank you for my family and although Raiyawna could not be with us, I thank you for allowing Rasco to be a part of this family and this dinner." One day, I will probably be sitting at he and Dob's table thanking God that they allowed me a chance to visit with them. Life is so rewarding when we look at the simplest things that God has blessed us with. When I say simplest, I don't mean our children. I mean tables, dinners, fellowship, knowing how to cook, and taste buds. When you really take the time to think about, there are so many things you can be grateful for. Well, I just felt like sharing a piece of my heart today and to take the opportunity to remind you to be grateful for the things that God has done; both great and small. Remove Those Dams 11/22/2010
Have you ever wonder why it seems that God's Word is not coming to past in your life. Or how you hear the Word of God but it doesn't seem to take the same affect on you as it does others. The Word is so profound and it will accomplish that which it was set out to accomplish. The enemy knows this, so the only way that he can hinder the Word from taking full root in you and manifesting itself through you- is to keep you from getting the Word. A dam is a wall that is built to stop the flow of water; or to cause a detourance. There are two dams in our lives that are continuously trying to stop the flow of living waters from moving freely in our lives. These two dams are: 1) Our Ears, and 2) Our Minds. First let me deal with our minds that conceptualizes, organizes, and compares information. This multi-functional job holder, has its own way of rationalizing what it wants and does not want. It has the ability to be led by your heart (not the cardiovascular but the heart of the mind), which is responsible for all that is right within you; your spiritual nature, but rarely is this who it desires to be led by. The mind desires to take upon its self the responsibility of leading you. So much so, that your own mind will set up dams to stop you from hearing your heart and will allow demonic sources to control and direct it. Find a person that is always talking foolishly, then you'll know what's in their heart has been tainted by their minds. If you tell them the reason why they need Christ, they will try to tell you whether it is feasible for them to live without Christ based on the information that it has stores and the factual information that Christ was a man becomes their reasoning for conceptualizing His ability to be the Savior of the world. Then there are those ears. If they become the avenue for that which the mind obtains information to conceptualize, organize, and compare....why wouldn't Satan fight endlessly to make sure that the information you receive is full of deceit, lies, and distorted information? Believe me, he does and these are the dams that he ushers your own mind to put in your ears. That's why people are not hearing the Word of God. The mind has alreaedy decided that the Word is information that isn't needed to live, and the ears follow suit by becoming deaf to the truth. We must remove these dams in order for God's Word to take full course in our lives and we must stay on guard against a present enemy who desires to kill, steal, and destroy God's truth with lies. You can not stop God's Word from fulfilling the purpose for which God spoke it through existence. You might as well know the Word since you can't stop the Word. Then there is no since in knowing the Word and half heartedly believing the Word. Even Satan knows the Word and believes....if he didn't, why would he fight so hard to keep you from knowing the Word. If you know the Word, you might as well live by the Word, because what is to come is already destined and set in motion and you have been given the distinct opportunity to decide your end. Those of us who live the Word, begin to love the Word because we understand that the Word was God, and the Word is God. Don't let these dams stop you from getting all that God has in store for you. The Word will cause you to be fruitful and blessed some sixtyfold and some a hundredfold. I believe that your blessing and the extent of what you are blessed with is determined by how much of the Word you know, live by, operate because of, and operate through. So tell your ears, "You will hear God's Word", and tell your mind, "You don't have to figure it out, just get an understanding. The Word is, was, and will always be, my saving grace." Faith comes by hearing, and complete hearing by the Word of God. If you have not heard and believed the Word of God (the Gospel), then you have not heard nothing at all. Be Blessed. Reynard was laid off of his job and being that I didn't have a job, we were forced to deal with some situations we never thought we'd be in. I often wondered, "God, why are you allowing us to go through this?" And I heard nothing. Then one day I received a phone call from a saint who said, "God told me to tell you to just hold on. He's going to allow you all to go through some things to take you to a level that is far beyond the level you ever thought you would go." That helped but it still did not fix the fact that we had no where to go. I went to a friends house and then truly found that I did not have a friend at all. Then, we went to family house, and realized that you can't crowd people out of their own homes because they'll get weary in well doing. So, we decided to go back to our house that had no lights, a thousand dollar light bill that should have been paid by a mortgage company was never paid and we didn't have it to pay, the gas line had been shut down because no one lived in the house and the meter had been run over, and the pipes were so busted that if you turned on the water, it wouldn't have done any good. (The Rest of the story will be in my upcoming book, "You Don't Know What I've Been Through") One night, it got down to 45 degrees outside, but probably less than 30 degrees inside the house. We had on long socks, pajamas, and two blankets and we still were freezing. Well Scroggins got up and got three more blankets, both of our skull caps, and gloves and finally we were worn although we had to keep our heads covered. Going through all this at home, while still going to church and preaching on some Sundays. And I wondered, If I were better off when it was hot, and we were in the house sweating all night with windows up for air. It was on that night I said to Scroggins, "Baby, I can now imagine how some of the homeless people feel who are in old houses thinking that they will be warmer. I know how cold they are." It was at this point, I just broke down. Even now writing this I am swamped with tears. (Then God let my sister call me to say, "You are going through for God's purpose. Say strong sis, it's a part of your purpose!) God knew I needed strength just to write this. If I could afford to go and buy blankets, I would have no need to ask you to donate them. This is something so special to me that it aches. I ache thinking about those men, women, and children in boxes at night, under bridges, in cars, without covering. Let's not only cover their souls with prayer, let's cover their bodies with blankets. My father in law would open his home to homeless people or children who had no where to go and now his same home is a place where his own children had to run to in times of trouble. So who beIf you are in the Shreveport surrounding areas, we will pick up the blankets; even in Texas. Or if you can afford to send them, please send them to Community of Faith Family Church, 624 Louise Street, Mansfield, Louisiana 71052. The winter is fastly approaching and we need those blankets like yesterday. Thank you and be blessed! Watch Out For Those Seeds 11/12/2010

The Misguided Emotional Breakdown 11/04/2010
The misguided emotional breakdown is when our soul is governed by emotions that cause us to believe that our feelings over-power the reality of what is morally correct. It’s like coming to the conclusion that what I desire right now, whether wrong or not, is what I want and what I need. This misguided emotional breakdown often occurs when ignored lust or physical desire is not dealt with, and put into proper perspective. In reality, it's when our emotions have been put in charge of our actions and we become subjected to prideful living and the lack of self-control. Have you ever had a friend that’s so deeply infatuated with a man who is already married? She often talks about him, how she’s falling in love with him, and how she knew that he was the one for her. Then eventually you’ll hear her say, “I know it’s wrong, but I love him.” It is at this point, she has fixated her mind to believe that an opportunity to show him her love would cause him to reevaluate his marital status. So if given the chance not only will she allow these emotions to control her actions, she will justify her actions in her heart and mind. Soon, she becomes misguided and blind by immoral behavior caused by an emotional breakdown. Danyelle Scroggins is the author of His Mistress or God’s Daughter and Not Until You’re Ready. Lust is a strong physical desire that causes us to have sexual relations with someone, without being in love with them or having affections for them. And whether you care to admit it or not, a lot of people are married to people who they physically desired before they knew them. We are and were created as sexual beings and there’s nothing wrong with physical desire when we are guided by self-control. Nonetheless, the problem of physical desire is when we are desiring the wrong person and not understanding that there is an importance to knowing the person we desire physically. We often try to ignore this physical desire when it’s guided towards the wrong person or persons and ignoring what could become problematic, could cause us more harm. Lust must be dealt with or else it festers and becomes stronger. Ignored lust, if not dealt with, can become camouflaged as true affection or love. This is why women tend to fall in love so fast. It’s their desire and eagerness to have a mate that causes them to physically consider and entertain the wrong types of relationships. Physical attraction has nothing to do with physical desire. But physical attraction can quickly become physical desire, and this is the point where we should consider what we are feeling and bring our emotions under subjection to what is morally correct and right for us. Attraction that leads to lust can be critical to us only if we ignore what our flesh is feeling. Lust can not be ignored or pushed to the back of our minds. We must allow ourselves the opportunity to deal with what we are feeling, allow God to fix these feelings through the power of his Word, and be determined to live a life with self-control.
