Leslie across her bed and sobbed uncontrollably. She wasn’t sure if she was ashamed of having written Sapporo Ink or just ashamed that she’d be stupid enough to take Reggie back. She’d heard far too many times while she grieved his marriage, that she’d be a fool to ever consider taking him back. No one understood how much she loved this man. He was her soul mate and the one whom God had chosen for her. It wasn’t her fault that he’d gotten misguided, but she was the one who carried the hurt, shame, and disappointment of his choices and actions. Would there have been a better way for him to do things? She wasn’t sure. All she knew is that he did what he did and she’d never stopped loving him. As the audience laughed at the jokes from Three’s Company, she’d wished she could enjoy her nightly episodes as usual. The pain in her heart was just too much to bear.

Nicky rode home thinking about Leslie. She couldn’t believe that she’d written in without even telling her and Chelle about Reggie. He’d destroyed her when he chose to marry the woman who bore him a son and Nicky disliked him for that. Now, she would truly have to squash her feelings of animosity towards him, because in reality, Leslie loved him as much today as she did back then. It was apparent in her eyes, as the callers chimed in on her situation. Chelle went through great provisions to make sure that the obvious, wasn’t so obvious, but she wanted to slap Leslie herself. Chelle didn’t believe in letting a man in twice, and four divorces told the story. If you hurt her once, you’d better watch out because her lawyer would be sending those papers before you could blink.

Chelle made it home and turned her television of TV Land. She and Leslie always watched Jack Tripper act a nut on Three’s Company, and tonight was no different. She was going to laugh through the madness. She couldn’t believe that Leslie would even entertain the thought of letting that no good bastard back into her life. He’d not only hurt her, he almost tore her life apart. Chelle had no sympathy when it came to men. Whatever they got, is what they deserved. Her motto was, “If you hurt me once, I’ll be a monkey butt if you do it twice.” She wished she could chunk a good dose of how she felt down a lot of women’s throats. If only they thought like she did, men wouldn’t stand a chance and either they’ll get it together or they would get gone; by choice or force.
She wanted to pick up the phone to call Leslie, but thought better of it. If Leslie was nothing else, she was a smart woman and very capable of handling her own. If she weren’t, she’d killed herself or Reggie when she found out that he was leaving her the first time. Chelle knew that Leslie would find the answer somehow. All Chelle knew is that Reggie was still a married man, and she didn’t want Leslie getting wrapped up in that situation. She’d divorced three times because of a mistress and she was not at all approving of her friend becoming the type of woman that she hated.

Nicky bent down beside her bed to pray….Father, I come before your throne asking that You would first forgive me of my sins before you. Now, I ask You to intervene in the lives of the people whom I love the most. Protect them, keep them, watch over them, and please allow Your Blood to cover them. I ask for special prayer on behalf of Leslie. I know she’s faced with a difficult decision and You have the answers to all things. Father, cause Your spirit to urge her to come to before Your throne of grace and mercy. Then I pray for Chelle’s spirit man. Do a work in each of them and please don’t forget about me. In Jesus name I pray, amen.

Three friends and one on the verge of making a decision that would either make or break the friendship they’d built. Will Leslie get caught in a relationship with Reggie, even though he’s still married? Or, does Reggie love Leslie enough to understand where she may stand on their relationship? All these questions and more will be answered in “Put It In Ink” a spin off book from “His Mistress or God’s Daughter?”
