I Don't Want To Do The Work And Then Not See The Blessing

I went to watch the movie Selma and as I sat there, my mind went to the Bible. It's hard for a Bible student or teacher not to reflect upon the Word to analyze or get clarity. So I said to God, "Lord neither Moses nor Martin got a chance to witness what their work and obedience to You brought forth." Then I instantly went back into my mind when I read a book about Emily Dickerson. How she was so depressed and often gravitated towards her home and never realized the awesome of her books nor did the people until she died. So as fear would have it, for a long time I feared no one ever really getting the message from my books until I die.

Nonetheless, I'm delivered from that! Praise God! BUT I still had the big question on my mind after the movie. God is so gracious in that whenever I ask Him a question, He usually says nothing until I make the effort to getting the Word before me. Then He says, "Okay, Danyelle really wants to talk!" So first I go to Deuteronomy 3:23-28 and I watch how Moses literally begs God to take the people to the good land, but God wouldn't hear of it and told Moses, "Enough of that!" Now go command Joshua and encourage and strengthen him because it's now his job. Wow, would that not almost blow your heart apart. You've done all the work and then the Lord refuses to let you see the benefits of the work.

Now look, don't go being upset with the Lord and feeling all sorry for Moses because this is the results of Moses very own actions of disobedience. Numbers 20:7-12 shows how God told Moses to hit the rock once and water would come up in order for him to give the people and their animals a drink. Well Moses did what he wanted to do by first calling the people out as Rebels. Now you can not call God's people whatever you choose and expect God to give you the best of what He has for you; so because of this, he found himself standing on the hill looking out as far as his eyes could see at the blessing, but never stepping foot in it. Wow!! Can you see Martin in this......39 years old and dead but He said, "I've been over the mountaintop and I've seen...", but he never got a chance to go or fully experience life as a free black man.

Someone is saying in their heart, "they really aren't free now". Well that's a matter of opinion and I don't care how bad it looks now, it was worse. God has been good to a people who has refused to obey Him and at some point Moses of the world, God has to refuse you the right to what  you feel should rightfully be yours. Now that was the prophetic let me get back to the story. So I said to God, "Moses did that one thing and you just cut him out of the biggest blessing of his life." God said, "Danyelle it wasn't the first time Moses exercised disobedience. I told him to circumcise his first born eight days after birth and it took his wife to do what I was going to kill him over. Did not I tell you that a double minded man is unstable in all of his ways."

I almost hit the floor! You must understand that when you go back and forth from obeying to disobeying, it's showing your instability and unstable people never amount to greatness. Now, I don't know what the case was with Martin Luther King Jr. or John F. Kennedy, but what I do know is nothing just happens and God controls the circumstances. Don't do the work of greatness and never get the opportunity to see the work fulfilled because of disobedience to God. Go over and beyond to obey the voice of God and if you are His sheep, you know His voice. I'm going to tell you like I tell my children, the devil is never going to tell  you to do something good or something for someone else. Amen! Obedience to God is the way that leads to a happy and long life.

We honor the men and women who fought but could not make it to the promised blessing. We salute those who have been partakers and have seen God's glory to the saints. We admonish those who have not accepted the Lord as their personal savior to do so. & We recommend that when you know Him, you must trust Him enough to obey Him!
