Hello,
Louisiana is reeling under water right now, but as I look at the pictures of homes deep under the water, I cannot help but to remember the covenant promise (Gen.9:17) God made to us. Nonetheless, what happens when babes in Christ have questions about what is going on right now in the world. Basically, we must rely upon the Word of God to make things clear. It's just that simple. 2 Timothy 3:1-5 says, "But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these." It's raining and if you are like me, you've heard the cliche' "When it rains it pours". Well you better believe it is doing more than water raining in the world today. It' goes on to say v. 6-11... "For among them are those who enter into households and captivate weak women weighed down with sins, led on by various impulses, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men of depraved mind, rejected in regard to the faith. But they will not make further progress; for their folly will be obvious to all, just as Jannes's and Jambres's folly was also. Now you followed my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, perseverance, persecutions, and sufferings, such as happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium and at Lystra; what persecutions I endured, and out of them all the Lord rescued me!" Paul is simply saying to us, there are some things coming upon you in the last days, but you can rest assured if you have followed in faith his teachings, character, and fight, you will endure and the Lord will certainly rescue you from all of this. The world is only doing what the world has been cursed to do, but we who are in the world but not of the world, will never be affected by these things. In other words, no matter what happens, we are covered by the Blood of Jesus and protected by that same Blood. I know it may feel like when it starts to rain in your life, it pours. You will, you must, you have got to remember that all things work together for your good (Rom. 8:28). Even the things that seem to take us by storm;). If I can encourage you, especially to my fellow Louisianians....Be encouraged and know this too shall pass. I know you may have seemed to be losing all you have, well all you need is God's breath. Things can be replaced but your life here on earth is a one time situation. So while it is pouring in your life, thank God you have yet another opportunity to turn things around. I'm praying.....be blessed! |
