I had the awesome privilege of speaking with one of my readers.
You see, I've come to understand the power of my readership. Yet, I understand above all that, the power of the ONE. He who feeds my gift and grants me the opportunity to produce HIS WORD in fiction form. Books for readers who need and desire to understand HIM better. As much as I'd like to take credit for what I do...I can't. I realize writing for me was an extension of the grace given to me for witnessing. I witness through books. So whether it's Danyelle Scroggins, Ivory Keys, or D.L. Quaker, you'll find truth. Somewhere woven through the stroking of keys and letters, is a witness. A testimony of how I am, how I was, or how I would be had it not been for the Lord's saving power. I had to disclose all that before I wrote a single thing about small things matter. Or else, you would not understand why I recognize the small things or even do them. This particular reader wrote me. I answered her back. She revealed that she at first didn't even believe it was me. Then when she realized it was, she went to her friends and shared how I'd taken the time to write her back. And now, not only is she sharing me and my books with her friends, she's become someone dear to my heart. See, small things matter. What is a small gesture of love my daughter always wanted me to keep. As long as I am a writer...writing people back who write to me. Has become a driving force for getting new readers and sales. Talking about grateful. That I am. To know small things do matter, is to understand the power of a mustard seed of faith. Or the meaning of a little leaven that destroys a whole lump. Little things can be the greatest gift, or the worse weakness. Regardless to what or who you are, always remember the small things. Always remember that your greatest accomplishments come in small doses. That your greatest display of love and gratitude shows in small heartfelt actions. And, the power of God will always rest upon you when you recognize that small things matter. Be Blessed, Danyelle |
