Today, I'm going to introduce you to a lady who was once my very own nurse. She truly has a heart for people and wears a contagious smile that is sure to stir your heart. You know, it's not always you run into people who don't have to say they are Christians, in order for you to feel their love, but she's one of them. So, I introduce to some....Lady Dyani Allen. Let's go. Tell me a little about you – I’m a Registered Nurse, currently serving as Director of Clinical Services at a local short term rehabilitation center. I am a mother, a grandmother, a church musician, and most importantly – a child of the Most High King! Awesome. So, here's our quirky quiz. The one where we'll get to know you a little better through real life questions. What are your thoughts about laughter – I believe that laughter is like a medicine. I love to laugh and enjoy life. I grew up in a home where my siblings and I literally laughed through it all. Favorite Book – The Master Stroke Favorite Food – cheese Favorite color – red Favorite authors – Danielle Steel, Terri McMillan Favorite scripture – Nehemiah 8:10 Great! This is how we get to know you a little better. I was like...WOW, she has a Danielle on the fav authors list. At least one of us made it. Hahahaha. So you've written a book! Tell us about it.... The name of my book is, Closed Door Conversations. It's my very first book. Because I know some stuff, I want you to give my readers your special testimony: Writing Closed Door Conversations was an act of obedience. God placed writing this book in my heart about two years ago. I spent about one-and-a-half years telling myself all of the reasons why I wasn’t qualified to write a book. Satan was constantly in my head saying “What makes you think you know enough to write a book? Who told you that you were an authority on anything? What credentials do you have?...... When I finally decided to move ahead with writing the book, then I argued that I needed a desk top or a tablet, then I could get started. I needed to have more time, then I would write. When I stopped making excuses and just wrote the book, God gave me the words to say. I wrote the entire book using my cell phone. God was showing me that He’d already equipped me with everything that I needed. When I got to the last paragraph of the book, tears started flowing uncontrollably. It was like the Holy Spirit was giving me His stamp of approval. Since completing the book, God has been opening so many doors. I’m in awe of all that God is doing. I must say, so many people have shared how he tries to steal their visions, gifts, and goals, but I'm so glad you pressed forward. I'm so glad that you stopped making excuses and became a big girl for real. Okay, so we know you are a God-Girl, and you play the piano for your local church. How has your relationship with God affected your writing? I tried to be transparent in my writing and allow my book to be a witness for Him. I’m afraid to not Honor God through any platform that I am given. So, how did you come up with the story? I have an open door policy at work. Any time my door is closed, it’s an indication that a very serious discussion is taking place behind those closed doors. The most significant conversations take place behind closed doors. That’s how the title of the book was birthed. I wanted to share things I’ve learned along the way with new leaders who may be struggling. Awesome concept. I promise I don't close my door until it's private business. So I get this. WOW. Well, what’s next for Dyani the author? I am already working on my next book. I’m focused on trying to write books that can help someone else, whether through information or inspiration. I’d like to encourage anyone who’s struggling with stepping out into the unknown, to trust God. If He’s given you an assignment, He will give the provision for you to complete that assignment. There’s a blessing in your obedience! Definitely. I am so happy to share you with the world Dyani. You're such a wonderful person and I pray that all the young leaders will not only buy your book, but gain ensight. So, I don't want to leave without sharing your bio with everyone. Thanks for sharing with me In The Living Room, and I will be inviting you back as soon as the next book is done.
